In many cases, delivering your order is a little more complicated for us than simply handing a parcel to the courier. Sending, for example, a pack of PVC (500x100x70cm) involves a bit more effort. For this reason, amongst others, we try to pass on the actual costs of postage to you, the customer, as closely as possible. That’s only fair.
Below is an overview of how we structure our delivery charges (within the Netherlands):
In addition, we sometimes charge surcharges for zero-emission zones. These are listed separately in the shopping basket.
Furthermore, a surcharge currently applies to many delivery charges due to the extreme diesel surcharges we are being charged by our carriers.
All amounts quoted are exclusive of VAT. Ultimately, the above amounts are indicative. The costs shown in the shopping basket are always final!
We still calculate delivery charges separately from the product price, in the traditional way. This means that delivery costs are not included in the product price but are simply displayed transparently. In addition, we sell many products that are very long and/or heavy. This requires specialised transport (and therefore higher costs).
For Belgium, we charge 1.5 times the standard delivery charge for plastic road plates, 2 times for PVC pipes, 3 times for long rolls of root barrier fabric, and 5 times for the long rolls of root barrier fabric.
If you’re ordering a really large quantity (in which case your shopping basket will turn into a lorry or a boat) and you find the delivery charges a bit odd, you’re always welcome to give us a ring to see if we can work something out :)
